because of misinformation of their head injuries. It appears repeated blows to the head, concussions, etc. have resulted in former players having like-symptoms of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. What are your views is NFL football too violent a sport and could cause serious brain injuries to players later on in their 50’s, or is it worth the risk to be paid millions and millions of dollars to have players, ‘take a risk?’ (to keep playing for the fans. CNN reports.)
Examining the videotapes of the cause of concussions and brain injury it appears that any serious hit/blow to the head from any source could cause brain injury. Players playing with unhealed concussions are at risk of serious and permanent brain injury. I can’t imagine players like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, etc. being mentally impaired through the hits they have already been subject too. What’s your take on all of this?
Helmet sticker warnings:
For Riddell helmets:
WARNING: NO HELMET CAN PREVENT SERIOUS HEAD OR NECK INJURIES A PLAYER MIGHT RECEIVE WHILE PARTICIPATING IN FOOTBALL. Do not use this helmet to butt, ram or spear an opposing player. This is in violation of the football rules and such use can result in severe head or neck injuries, paralysis or death to you and possible injury to your opponent. Contact in football may result in CONCUSSION-BRAIN INJURY which no helmet can prevent. Symptoms include: loss of consciousness or memory, dizziness, headache, nausea or confusion. If you have symptoms, immediately stop playing and report them to your coach, trainer and parents. Do not return to a game or practice until all symptoms are gone and you have received medical clearance. Ignoring this warning may lead to another and more serious or fatal brain injury.
