This annoyed me and have to get it off my chest. Overall I have a very nice group of neighbors…in my court there are about 8 houses: a few older people, young couples with kids, and me (a single woman).
Yesterday we all got an email from one woman who is about 65 and retired:
Hi Neighbors,
I usually do my best to take care of my property. However, I was unable to remove the leaves this week. I will be removing them this weekend to keep our Court looking nice.
Thanks,
Regina
Um, hello, passive aggressive?! Only one person has even raked yet! We’re all busy with lives, jobs, health constraints, all of the above…I thought maybe I was just being sensitive until I saw a couple of other neighbors out raking (!) and we were all commiserating.

This sounds like the nudge I need to reach for something other than Isabel Dalhousie mysteries I’m reading now :)
But how to choose a book??
Looking at the BBC’s Big Read, I’ve only read about 40, so I should be easy to please. Of course some of them (i.e. Ulysses) maybe not good to start with :)

Took this test of 240 questions and here are my top 5 strengths:
Your Top Strength

You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.
Your Second Strength
Appreciation of beauty and excellence
You notice and appreciate beauty, excellence, and/or skilled performance in all domains of life, from nature to art to mathematics to science to everyday experience.
Your Third Strength
Gratitude
You are aware of the good things that happen to you, and you never take them for granted. Your friends and family members know that you are a grateful person because you always take the time to express your thanks.
Your Fourth Strength
Curiosity and interest in the world
You are curious about everything. You are always asking questions, and you find all subjects and topics fascinating. You like exploration and discovery.
Your Fifth Strength
Industry, diligence, and perseverance
You work hard to finish what you start. No matter the project, you “get it out the door” in timely fashion. You do not get distracted when you work, and you take satisfaction in completing tasks.
Ha: when I look at all 24, the lowest was “modesty and humility” and then “self-control” (hello 30 extra pounds!)
