So I use to be really terrified of going into wave pools since my last attempt when I was 12 and nearly drowned. This time I had the help of my boyfriend. He helped me to tackle the waves by letting go of my fear and jumping into them. As scary as this was, he guided me into the waves by lifting me up when the waves came. By the end of the day I was jumping into the waves by myself. It was great. I had a lot of fun and I’m more willing to face my fears with water and begin to learn to swim well.

How I did it: There are days when I look in the mirror and start to bad mouth myself, but then I quickly remind myself that is not self love. It took me a while to accept the flaws of myself and to be able to love myself for all that it's worth. It's a lifetime process which I continue to work on day to day but as for this goal, I've realized that loving yourself is finally accepting you for all your flaws and beginning to give yourself more credit tha… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I didn't expect to meet the guy I am with online. Nor did I think love would happen because I became cynical, but I met my love online and although he's not perfect, I find myself falling more and more in love with him everyday. Love is a choice and I choose him. I don't know if it will last but I'm choosing to love him as long as time will allow it. He makes me happy and with that I know things can only grow from here. How I did it: I think the fact that this year on my birthday, I've come to terms with this understanding. My life is not perfect. It will never be the polished version of what I expected, but it's my life and I'm going to accept the past for what happens. Experience tells me that no matter how hard I wished to go back in time to correct the mistakes I've made, I can't. What I can do is to accept my past for how it's shaped me and learn from the wisdom … Read how I did it…

So I’ve been unemployed for about 1 month now. But really I’ve only started my job search from University about 2-3 weeks ago. I got hit by a few job scams which I didn’t fall for. Since finishing my degree, (my convocation is in November) I have yet to figure out what I want to do besides writing. So I’ve decided between waiting for my job to appear, ie waiting for interviews, I’ve decided NOW is the time to volunteer to see what I want to do. I’m keeping my spirits up and using this as an opportunity for change, growth and development.
So I am determined to speak my language. Since it’s on the list and I’m finished University, I signed up for an intro to Mandarin class at the University with my loving wonderful boyfriend. It’s great because we can speak Chinese together and we’ll be more prepared when we take our trip to China in a year or so :D
