So, it's evidently not for me.

I guess in a way it was worth it, because at least this way I could call off all further dates without having it get too far. But all the same, I had expected so much of it, and it was truly the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had.
But oh well. Sooner or later there’ll be another boy to obsess over, right? And maybe things will work out much better with that boy than they ever did with him.
