Came across an article by Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love, as she was interviewed after her recent book Committed:
What advice would you give women?
- I’d say: Please have figured out your own life. Please be economically autonomous. Please educate yoursefl. And please choose somebody who, likewise, is all of these things. You can develop a life of sustained inimacy without a legal bond. But marriage is a bond of power. People you dont know will hand you regard that you wouldn’t get othersiese. If you dont need that, that’s okay, but it is worth something.

I have started listening to Susan Orman’s audio book on Laws of Money and find it quite insightful.
The topic that struck me most was BE TRUTHFUL about your finances – with yourself and others. That is something I caught myself, as I was remembering instances of going for something I really could not afford, but also times, when I was truthful that I cant actually afford something…but I do realize that there is much pressure to have the outward proofs of your worth, so it is linked to my goal of living with integrity.
It all boils down to character…
I am inspired to keep pressing on in this goal. :)

Current Series: Taking Responsibility for Your Life – RESPONSIBILITIES. We all have them. But we don’t all take them as seriously as we ought to. Wouldn’t it be great if we all took responsibility for the things we are responsible for? Wouldn’t it be great if you took responsibility for everything you are responsible for? Whether you are the most responsible person you know or the reason for the “IR” in IRRESPONSIBLE, you’ll find some invaluable insights in this four-part series with Andy Stanley, TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE.
Description: There are some things in life that just are. Take gravity. We can leverage our understanding of gravity in order to stay grounded or to fly. But the principle itself is pretty basic. It’s the same with the principle of reaping and sowing: people reap what they sow. How can you leverage this principle to take greater responsibility for your life?
