I took a Norse Mythology class this past autumn at Ohio State, and it was one of those classes that embodies the best of what college is about. My professor was actually from Iceland, and her personal experience in Scandinavian culture added a whole other dimension to what we learned about the mythology and lifestyle of the Germanic peoples. What an amazing class.
And now I can pronounce the names of Ikea products without hesitation!! :o)

I’ve never given blood because I’ve been terrified of needles, especially ones that stay in me for a few minutes!! But over the past six months or so I’ve had to have several blood tests, and getting my blood drawn isn’t so scary anymore. Not pleasant by any means, of course!! But it’s something that I can definitely handle, especially knowing how much it might help someone.
And when I do this I’ll take care of two things on my list- this and finding out my blood type. :o)

There is a great podcast called “Wine for Newbies” that is both informative and enjoyable to listen to. Each podcast is around 10-15 minutes long and covers a specific aspect of wine. These podcasts explain info about wine in a way that is easy for anyone to follow without being arrogant or snobbish and making you feel inferior for not already knowing the information. I’ve learned SO much about wine from these podcasts, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn about wine, whether you just want to learn enough to know your way around the wine section in the grocery store or your goal is to become a full-fledged connoisseur.
