I forgot I’d added this to my 43things quite some time ago. I’ve been working in a public library for 6 years and I feel as though I’ve worked myself into a corner. Maybe an MLS will give me a little more flexibility, but I don’t know. At any rate, I’m starting my program in two weeks. I don’t relish adding homework to my already full load, but I admit I’m also excited and looking forward to being a student again.

Trying to get consistent. I’d been walking a few times a week (er…usually) but felt like I needed some sort of “weight-bearing” activity. Almost two months ago, I joined a gym, really low-key, womens-only, no contract, and I’ve been trying to go 3 times a week, using weights mostly. Trying to use time that I save at work, i.e. taking a short lunch one day so I can take a longer one the next and have time to exercise. Otherwise it’s really hard to find the time, with getting my son to school in the a.m., and having homework to do in the evenings after work. Just not enough time in the day!!!! but I’m trying.
I need to fit in some walking again, because even though I like the strength I’m feeling with the weights, I’m only doing about 20 minutes altogether on a treadmill and would really like to get some outside aerobic exercise!
Well, it’s not just that I want to go hiking. I’ve been hiking. I just want to go hiking more regularly. When I lived on the Olympic Peninsula it was really easy to just get out, go for a day hike, or camp, or backpack. But here, you have to drive so far to get anywhere and it’s become sort of a hassle. I need to learn more about this area and find some relatively close trails.
