Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Learn to master dreaming
It's difficult...

I would really like to be able to dream more and also take control of my dreams more often. I have experienced lucid dreams on a few ocassions and as anyone who ever had one should know, they are great. The problem right now is I have a real knack for becoming aware that I’m dreaming but I’m finding myself having trouble staying in the dream without waking up. Almost everytime I’m dreaming something interesting or pleasant I become aware I’m in a dream and wake up moments later. It truly sucks as there are a lot of parts in life we can only explore in our dreams and not in the waking world.

If anyone has had the same issues or someone experienced at lucid dreaming would happen to read this, I would really welcome some advices or guidelines on what I can do to keep this from happening.

Ugh I just can’t get around to doing it. Though it’s not the best show or anything, it’s been a part of my life for quite some time. There’s a channel in my country airing it every evening late at night and I often watch but for some funny reason I never happened to see the last episode of season 8 (which I understand is considered the inofficial ending though there is a season 9 too). Come to think about it I think I’ve watched Scrubs on and off for 10 years now. Gonna feel weird once I watched it.

I can’t do this all on my own… No I know, I’m no superman. I’m no superman…

become a better cook

I can do basic cooking and I have also dabbled a little with coming up with my own meals and ingredients to use. But it would be nice to at least be able to come up with a few meals of my own, signature meals if you will that I can prepare properly and that tastes great. So I will try to watch some videos on cooking to get some ideas and then practice every now and then when I have time.
