I’ve been vegan since I was 15, not too long ago, and vegetarian since I was almost 3. I chose to be both because of my own accord and I am very thankful to have such a loving and understanding family. I personally grew up in Oklahoma, which was an environment that was, to say the least, not very accepting of being vegetarian. Once you realize the horrors being inflicted onto these animals its hard not to at least be vegetarian but when I found out how awful animals were being treated for cheese and milk I knew I was done. And I LOVE me some fatty cheese. However, asserting yourself for the good of others is one of the most powerful and wonderful things you can do. It is entirely worth it to put aside yourself for a while and help others. Not only is this super helpful to animals but you feel GREAT and there are some amazing recipes to look into.
