Made one-my friend painted it, and it works perfectly. Better than the one I bought from a professional-sounds more authentic, and took me only a few days to make. WEAR A MASK WHILE YOU’RE MELTING PVC PIPES!! the fumes are really, really, REALLY bad for you and will give you a massive headache and ridiculous nosebleeds.
But despite all that, incredibly rewarding.

Love the instrument. I actually made my own and my friend decorated it for me. I have a D (bought it on Ebay for 20 bucks-sounds amazing nonetheless!) and then a C# (the one I made-BE CAREFUL IF YOU’RE MELTING PVC PIPES!!! WEAR A MASK!!!!)
Performed it in one concert and use it in a good bit of my music.

I simply love the erhu. I learned it well enough to perform in a Chinese vs. American baseball game—I performed our national anthem on the “chinese violin”, and a chinese guy performed their national anthem on a european violin! It was a wonderful experience :)
