How I did it: We just went for it. In the end we did two week long camps, one in Yorkshire and one in Norfolk.Mum did have a couple of falls, and it is obvious that she really is not very mobile, but it was so worth while seeing her enjoy herself. Read how I did it…
How I did it: We moved Eldest to a different care establishment, one that was a lot more progressive than the previous one. We managed to negotiate the funding, but the actual logistics were a nightmare, that was in part due to the accounts department booking the holiday in the wrong name.He did enjoy himself, but also found it difficult to adapt. Yesterday I was given a laptop. Less than 24 hours later I’ve got it up and running with Linux. I’m feeling a little bit chuffed :-)
No major problems, just a driver issue with my network card but I got that solved in half an hour.
It was so easy, I wish I’d done this earlier.
but I can see the difference now. Most of the chucking out had to start in ‘invisible’ areas such as the shed and loft, so that I could start storing things that I want to keep in them.
The biggest rearrangement was Littlest’s bedroom, and getting the stuff out from under his bed that had been stored there for the long term. I had to completely gut the cupboard in that room.
The greatest satisfaction comes when I get rid of something big, an item of furniture or some such.
