How I did it: After avoiding it and being freaked out by it, one day I just decided to do it! I never thought I could do it, I come from a family of wimps and the thought of needles kind of freak me out. However, the blood bank come sto my work twice a week, so I decided to go the next week. Went by myself, filled out the paperwork, did it, rode my bike home. No problem! It feels good, and I've done it again since then. It is easy and valuable and if I… Read how I did it…
Ha, we went on a mini road trip a couple weeks ago. Kind of awesome, but very mini. Still, it had it’s beautiful moments, fun, boring, silly, everything you could want.
I’d really like to trip to California or Minnesota or Cali by way of Minnesota with a few people from college. Maybe this summer!
Haha, I’m getting there! I can put the contact lenses in and take them out (though not quickly) and I have an appointment for Friday after Thanksgiving to get the right prescription and see if my eyes are doing okay with them in. If that goes well, I will consider this goal done!
Not to say there weren’t embarrassing, dumb setbacks! I must be one of the only people who could possible have THIS much trouble just getting them in and out…otherwise I would have had them years ago (no exaggeration!).
I’m terrible at languages, but the simplicity and universality of these languages appeal to me greatly! I love the idea of a universal second language, and I love how simple and easy to learn esperanto (supposedly) is.
I think sign language is really cool, too, how you can use it with little kids and they get it quicker than language, and it’s a bit more widely used that esperanto, so a little more practical.
I’m having a hard time getting motivated, though, as I really don’t particularly enjoy learning languages. Maybe I can get a buddy to do it with me! Or even just a tutor.
