So my interview was this morning, it was a sort of roundtable style, informalish, with 2 people from the organization and myself. they didn’t even look at my resume, cover letter or portfolio until after i left. it seemed like they wanted to take me on before i got there. i think they gave me a lot of credit for seeking them out and having an understanding of how they would fit what i was looking for.
so the interview went well and emails were quickly exchanged with my academic advisor so that it is approved for spring semester.
phew. i am so glad that i got my first choice, and i feel like it has the potential to be fantastic.

So I’m still on the first step, but that’s okay. Considering that the economy has taken such a downward spiral since my first post, I feel pretty good that I am still able to afford all of my bills. I’m not saving a lot but the Keep the Change program has definately helped me build at least $100 in savings, which I have avoided dipping back into. My credit card got a little too high but I have since put away the card and have been steadily paying it off as much as I can. I also want to try and transfer some of the balance to a second card with a better rate and a 0% intro APR and hopefully no balance transfer fee also. By paying less interest I will make more of a dent. A second credit card would help my credit score also by increasing my total available credit and establishing another strong payment history.
The winter months are always a little tougher because I work less while I’m in school. In a years time I’ll be about to graduate and hopefully I’ll be able to get a decent salaried job. My expenses shouldn’t change much, and there’s a six month grace before I begin paying back student loans. I know that’s going to take a while, but hopefully if I can keep all my other expenses down I can pay them off faster. By then my credit card should be totally paid off.
I just hope I don’t have any thing crazy come up before then (like needing a new car or something).
All in all I feel that while progress is slow, it’s still progress. For now it’s what I can manage.
but I’m still finding time to read some. I finished God Emperor of Dune and I’ve started the next book. I’ve decided I’m going to read books 1-6 before evaluating if I want to go on with the series or move on to another.
