In the redistribution of priorities, buying stuff, no matter how cool, is in the bottom… I’m not saying I’ll never have a digital SLR camera, but right now it seems completely unimportant. Better have this space for something more worthwhile.

How I did it: I just started focusing on giving thanks every day for everything in my life, for the good and the bad, and for the opportunity to live this life.I also started reading the Bible, not only with my head, but with an open heart. It didn't take long until it started to have a real effect on me. Read how I did it…
How I did it: The most important thing is to determine beforehand exactly what you will need for baby and make a master list. Keep inventory of everything that people give you and you get for baby as soon as it lands on your hands. Keep checking off from the list the items that you already have, and this final, modified list is what you will take with you to the different stores the day you decide to buy what you still need. Hopefully… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Four weeks before the date I chose for the shower I started making to-do lists of everything that needed to get done. I decided from the beginning what I would do myself (the little pinatas, the souvenirs for those who attendend and some of the appetizers we would be serving) and started shopping for the necessary items on time, and doing them with enough time to finish everything without any at-the-last-minute hurry. Almost a year ago my husband showed an interest in eating homemade gingerbread men cookies… I was willing to make them, but for some reason or other had put off the project. This past Sunday, on his 30th birthday, I made the cookies for him as a birthday present. Happily, I had most of the ingredients (except molasses, which I couldn’t find anywhere, but were easily substituted with honey…); I only had to buy parchment paper and a rolling pin.
I made enough dough for more than 25 cookies, I guess. And he liked them, although I must say that I think he didn’t love them. Now I think I know why I resisted so much to making them…
Of all the things I have a surplus of, books top the list. Already have four boxes full of books to give, and will start the next round of organizing my collection of books in order to fill at least four more boxes of books to give. My plan is to look into several libraries near where I live and donate them there. The books that the libraries won’t accept (because they’re underlined, marked, too old for their standards or not the right subject matter) I’ll try to donate to Salvation Army or some other place like that.
The rest I will put in a box and leave them at the university campus where I studied with a sign saying “Free books”... nothing cheers up a university student more than getting something useful for free… :-)
