We signed the closing papers on Wednesday, and we move in just a few days. I never would have guessed that we could have accomplished this based on our finances a couple years ago, we really turned things around. AND, we got a great house for well below its value due to the current downturn in the housing market.

The appraisal is in, and we are just waiting on a quote for home insurance now. After that, they might be moving our closing up even sooner! The house appraised for almost $15,000 more than we are paying, which is also very exciting. We are so close, the excitement is keeping me up at night.
Our family now has no credit debt, but there is still my old student loan, and my husband’s student loan, plus the car payment. We are tacking a 20 year mortgage onto that too soon. There is nothing overdue on that list, and we pay more than the minimum on everything. Plus our credit score is over 700 now! I didn’t think that would happen for another year or two at least.
