Last night at the mall, I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff available for holiday purchasing. I enjoyed seeing the decorations (up already!!) and the gaggle of prospective Santa’s trying out to be the main man in the courtyard, but it all seemed a bit hollow.
This week I’ve bought a beautiful silver garland for the tree and last weekend I took my grandma a little bell ornament that read, ‘I heart my grandma’. No christmas presents have been purchased, and no cookies have been baked. But, as soon as the Thanksgiving holiday passes, I plan to dive into the season headfirst!

I’d gotten pretty bad over the summer (more than I’d care to admit to) but I had managed to tame it down to 1 on the way to work, one with lunch, and one with dinner (this sounds like a lot, but trust me-it was an improvement!) over the past few weeks.
Last week I came down with a really horrible stomach flu and was separated from diet coke for a few days; my first time ‘cold turkey’ in a while. When I had my first ‘DC’ today, it wasn’t like reuniting with an old friend as I had anticipated; instead it was just a lunch time beverage to wash down my meal.
The flu pushed me to drink buckets of water, and I’ve noticed the trend has continued ; I’m drinking water in place of diet cokes (as I should!) without feeling like I’m missing something. I guess I never noticed how bad it had gotten, and I’m really glad that I’m able to move on without such an addiction to the stuff.

Finally got to the Benefit counter last night after a few months of uruly eyebrows. Strange as it may seem, I just feel better knowing that my eyebrows are groomed and lovely!
