Journalism class at BEHS is not only painfully easy, a montage of basic skills, and seldomn on topic- it’s walking propaganda for writing for the Spartan Banner. I’m currently taking this class, and next semester I have Creative Writing with the same teacher. I’ll likely get an earful.
Last year, I wrote a book review on “The Accidental Mother” last year. It was printed. Still, they chopped off the first few letters of my last name, and I realize now I made the mistake of reading the book without a critical eye.
With my grades, next year will likely be my first year where I won’t be awarded an editor’s position on the yearbook. Why bother applying? I guess I’ll try something new. The policy likely applies to the Banner, so I’ll simply have to write for it, not edit. Not a promising senior year…
