Let’s see how Valentine’s Day is managed….

start a revolution: "changing the country by changing ourselves first"
Be an individual 2 years ago

Being an individual doesn’t always mean being an outsider, though it can feel that way sometimes.

do or do not...there is no try (read all 3 entries…)
Untitled 2 years ago

Yesterday I was tempted to say “trying” and I stopped and thought to myself, “Can I do this or can I not do this?” So I made a statement that I will indeed be doing it.

finish my book (read all 2 entries…)
What remains to be done 2 years ago

I have pieced everything together (roughly) and have finished going through every source I have for material.
Steps remaining:
1. Creat these pages: Dedication, Afterwards, Back Cover
2. Edit the Pieces in each Part and Section
3. Title each individual piece
4. Complete the Intro
5. Complete the Conclusion
6. Find research on each Section and integrate
7. Integrate quotes
8. Front Cover

do or do not...there is no try (read all 3 entries…)
I'll try 2 years ago

Just kidding.
The first thing on the “do” list is start working on my book… right now… straight…until 3pm.

Cause Another Scene
In Beverly Hills the other night... 2 years ago

I went out with two friends to this very nice place and within the first five minutes, spilled my entire drink by accident somehow. It splashed on a bunch of people standing around, spilled all over the floor, and caused all this commotion in general. In the course of apologizing, we ended up meeting about ten new people—mostly victims of the spillage, or those who witnessed it. It ended up being a lot of fun.

let go and let God
Truth 2 years ago

I feel like if I let go I will lose control and lose my mind. I want to lose control and lose my mind, if it will bring me closer to the truth.

I want to look at myself for who I really am.
Mirror 2 years ago

This is scary to do sometimes, but I am lifting up the mirror.

compile a 100-things-about-me list
Untitled 2 years ago

1. I used to study insects when I was little.
2. I won at Mike Tyson’s Punch Out when I was like, 10. I had a secret code to get to the final round and when I won I felt like I did the impossible, but then realized that now the game was over :(
3. I am doing today what I have been thinking about doing for many years.
4. Deep down inside, I want this relationship to work.
5. I want to look at myself for who I really am. It is scary to do sometimes.

Atlas shrugged off 2 years ago

I’m not sure if this should be on the list because this will take me 8 million years. Well, maybe I can do 5 pages a day. I’ll think about it more tomorrow.

Eat sugar free or whatever is closest (read all 2 entries…)
Alrighty then... 2 years ago

Just finished off the last of the apple juice which had 28 g of sugar per serving and so now I’m down to milk and water and coffee. I’ll get more apple juice or other juices if they are less than 28 g and then go from there.

Read for thirty minutes every day (read all 2 entries…)
Untitled 2 years ago

I have been doing this. At 3 I’ll stop and read the next chapter of Prozac Nation. I would like to get done soon because it is a little depressing and what I am writing is a little depressing too, so perhaps the next book will be about How to be Happy or something to that effect…

I’m not sure why I want to learn Italian. I am not Italian whatsoever. Spanish would make more sense because I live in Southern Cali. Hmmm. Maybe I’ll start tomorrow.

Step out of the marketing trick that holidays have become (read all 2 entries…)
Not in the Grinch who stole Christmas kind of way, but .... 2 years ago

Let’s start with Christmas.
I am not religious… however, I do see Christmas as being a season of joy, peace, and appreciation. For many Jesus is the reason for the season, and I respect Jesus because his teachings are about love. So however you choose to see it, unless you completely ignore it, it is a season of love, which is very cool.
But everywhere else that you look, it is a season to buy, and I think we are losing the significance.
I will be the first to admit that for many years I was one of the last minute shoppers rushing around all stressed out because I forgot about my uncle, couldn’t find the right gift for my boyfriend, and had no idea what to get for my dad. It feels like you have to have your gifts ready and wrapped come December 25 or you are doomed.
I say no more.
I’d like to revive the days of meaningful moments over the holidays, which may or may not involve gifts, unless that is what you WANT to do, not what the media pressures you to do.

Finish things I start
In the background... 2 years ago

When I look around my room, I see about six half-read books, ten bottles of perfume 1/4 used, two million lipsticks I don’t remember I have, five different bottles of shampoo in my shower, clothes I forgot to take back, and a parking ticket I forgot to pay. That’s just a glance, I’m not looking very hard.
I want to simplify and live a less-is-more lifestyle.
Today I’m going to pick one thing and work on it until it’s finished and then will continue on with something else so I can get the small things done in the background. First, task 1: Finish reading Prozac Nation

be courageous even if it means being unpopular
and read The Fountainhead 2 years ago

I remember back in the day when I was in school there was this sign hanging up in the classroom that said, “Doing what’s right doesn’t always mean doing what’s popular.” Or it was something like that. I used to see it every single day. Deciding what is wrong or right isn’t the point here, but I think we all know what this means and it’s so easy to sell out, but I love when I don’t. I challenge myself to keep doing that for as long as I’m alive, the best way I can.

Leave notes with positive messages around Los Angeles
Smile! 2 years ago

I got this idea from someone else who said he was putting them in library books, which is also very nice. I was thinking that maybe I’ll bring a bunch with me when I go out and then plan to leave one a day somewhere. Like on the ATM machine after I use it or on the mailbox or something like that. We’ll see how it goes.

The Secret… a must see… I try to catch a little bit of it whenever I get a chance, even if it’s just 20 minutes, just to keep reminding myself that thoughts become things… Think Positive :)

Yikes 2 years ago

It is monsterously huge, and it will totally sabotage my plan to read 50 books by the end of February, but Fountainhead was my favorite book, so I want to round out the Ayn Rand thing.
