I needed a real kick in the pants to get going on saving and not spending. I decided that Dave and I wouldn’t go to any restaurants (not even fast food) for the month of March excluding 1 dinner date we already had planned with friends on the 14th. So far for the month of March, (its the 24th now!) I have only had to “cheat” once and spend $4.95 at a burger joint. Its been pretty freeing to not even consider fast food or eating out at a restaurant. Yeah I have had to plan more each week but really it hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be. I am definitely happy with this first step towards spending less.
So the cookbook I am starting with is a dessert book “Sticky, Gooey, Messy, Chewy.” I don’t know if its cheating or not to start cooking my way through a cookbook and it doesn’t really go with my “Lose weight” goal. But I can bring the desserts into work so I won’t be tempted to eat them all. ;-)
