How I did it: If you're living alone, it's far far better to stare in your reflection in the mirror than the TV. If you're living with any living creature, they should be your focus.Turn off the TV. I have. And I feel better and more sober. Read how I did it…
How I did it: We were eating rubbish for a while and started feeling really tired and miserable all the time. We talked about what we could change right off, so I decided to get back to cooking because I thought it would be helpful on many levels. And it was-it's good for your health,it's creative, it helps your discipline, your control of monthly food expenses, it's much nicer to sit and have a decent meal together, instead of nervously chewing on anot… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I decided to go without bread from Monday to Sunday, and 1st week I didn't make it because there was so much going on and I am a huge fan of any kind of bread, so I had some as comfort food. But I stuck with my goal for another week, so today is basically my 10th day without bread!I have been eating healthier, more cooked food and salads and feel better-not hungry, but not stuffed either. I passed my exam, and with a high score, too!
Looking forward to going back to the classroom next Tuesday.
I’ve been taking Italian classes in a private school since early October. I didn’t start at the first level because I already knew some Italian before, but at the A2 CILS level and on Saturday 21st I took the test, for which the results should be online sometime this week. I think I did well, or at least, well enough.
I am lucky that our ‘maestra’ is a very approachable and chatty person who makes learning fun and I’ve already gained a lot more confidence in actually speaking the language.
Now, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Italian all my life (which is closely connected with my father who speaks it fluently but refused to teach me), and I’ve always, always hated being tested in any way.
So these were 2, no, 3 big leaps out of my comfort zone (there are other people in my class, obviously, and I struggle with social anxiety) and I am very proud of myself for stepping out and deciding to be brave and invest time and money into bettering myself.
I had my first massage EVER on Wednesday.
I know that, for some people, a massage is something normal, something they make happen regularly, or something they treat themselves to every once in a while.
For me, it is a giant step out of my comfort zone and a giant step forward into taking better care of myself.
My back is in a terrible state, from all that sitting in front of a computer, and my shoulders ache for the same reason.
The massage was painful, but pleasant. The physiotherapist I chose is a kind and knowledgeable professional who made me feel at ease.
Next Wednesday, next appointment.
