learn to longboard
Longboarding 2 years ago

I bought my first longboard (a Sector 9) a week ago. I really love it and as soon as I got it I spent the next 6 hours of daylight I had left on it & just as I was about to go inside for the day, I got a little cocky and tried to kickflip on it, but fucked up and busted my foot really bad. I got it xrayed yesterday & I’m waiting for the results, but in the meantime my foot is black all over with bruises & so swollen it doesn’t fit into any shoes… :(
Plus the worst part is the doc recommended I didn’t skate for two weeks! (I lasted a day before I was back on…)

So that’s my story I guess. I love it so much & can’t wait to get better at it, I’m just going to keep trying. (I’m not the most coordinated person, so this injury will surely not be the last…)

Donate blood
Untitled 2 years ago

Unfortunately, I have to postpone this goal because I got tattooed recently while in Japan & you have to wait twelve months after getting inked to donate blood here in Aust. So this one will have to wait :(

be more spontaneous
Worth it 2 years ago

I was sitting on the computer one day browsing my 43things.com list & saddened by the fact that I’ve done barely any of them so at that point I decided I could kill three birds with one stone so to speak & decided to go to Japan to see Bright Eyes in concert at Summer Sonic. Besides being a massive Bright Eyes fan, I had always wanted to visit Japan. I didn’t have anyone to go with and had never travelled overseas by myself, I had a few weeks to brush up on what little Japanese I knew, and I came down with the flu pretty bad two days before I left.

Despite all this, it was one of the most exhilirating and eye-opening two weeks of my life. I realised alot of things about myself (one being, it gets lonely to travel alone despite my solitary personality) and I loved my experience in Japan and the Japanese people I met.

I’m hoping a little bit of that spontaneity I showed then will come through in my everyday life because I found it to be really exciting and enjoyable.
