Or maybe day three, just how you define your starting day ;-) Yes, I do think of smoking, but no, I don’t feel like going back to the days of smelly clothes and bad breath and late nigh hunts for the killer darlings. I just think of smoking and ten seconds later I’m thinking of other things. It feels great!

How I did it: A job search starts with defining what job would make you happy. In my case, I aimed high, got a break in January, but was laid off three months later, thanks to the credit crunch. Monday I am starting as a project manager for a large international market research company. I am very motivated. This is my first step. There is more to come.
I want to step out this circle of dependency and fear. Fear of not being able to do without and depending on something that gradually takes away all confidence, initiative, health and feeling worthy.
I read “De opluchting” (The relief) a book by a Dutch author, Jan Geurtz. I am ready to smoke my last cigarette and leave taking my insecurity and fear with me. It’s an adventure, but I can live without an addiction.
My mind is ready and my body will soon be clean and much more energetic. Here I go!
