It took some doing. I found a firefighter outside a locked fire station. When I asked about the museum he pointed down the street to a workman fixing a sidewalk. “See that guy, his name is Bud and he is in charge of it, I kid you not!” So I went over to Bud we met that night and I saw the first pumper west of the Alleghenies. Along with fire insurance house badges, old uniforms and equipment, patches from around the world. Super.

How I did it: Did a lot of delayed maintenance. Painted everywhere. Redid the basement from paneling to a finished painted surface. New ceiling and electrical outlets. Put furniture and stuff in storage to create more space in the living and closet areas. Got a warrenty for the appliances, fixed a leak in the roof, cleaned like mad. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I walked on the treadmill at the fitness club over the last several months building up my time and endurance. I joined a team and made a commitment to be at the Relay for the team. Read how I did it…
After a two years of preparation by my wife, we accepted an offer for list price in SIX days! A few fix up projects, bank approval and we close on June 23rd. Yeah!
It was fun to find them. Three of them were in limited release. One barely made it to my mid-size city (Akron, Ohio)
Most were not a date movie and required thought during and after to appreciate.
A bonus was that folks on the way out of the theater talked about the picture with me!
Well worth doing.
