How I did it: This entire process is more intense (and complicated) than most people realize - counseling evaluations for everybody, physical exams, shots and pills, agreements to abstain from sex, and the whole legal side. The legal contract is entirely necessary but a pain in the butt - even if you and the other people agree, the lawyers will quibble over the tiniest of word phrasing.
