My best friend and I hitchhiked with no predetermined destination. We ended up in Santa Cruz, and we might stay here.

How I did it: I shaved off my dreadlocks and cried all night. I felt ugly for along time. Some days I still feel it. My hair is four inches all over now, I wear pig tails sometimes. It's...okay. Read how I did it…
How I did it: DRAIN THE TOFU! i don;t know how I survived without this information. DRAINDRAINDRAIN, I make scramble, burritos, salads, nuggets, stir fry, sandwiches, pizzas! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Knit my nieces and sister matching hats for Christmas. I rule! haha I also really hate that there's a character minimum for describing my experience. wtf Read how I did it…

My best friend and I hitchhiked out of our shitty, central California town. We made it to Petaluma (I LOOOOVED Petaluma), Tomales, Dillon Beach, Valley Ford, San Rafael, San Francisco, Colma, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, San Gregorio Beach, and Santa Cruz.
It wasn’t hard to get rides. I guess what I heard about a male-female hitchhiking duo was right, people seem more likely to pick us up. We never had any scary encounters, they were all positive.
A common thread that connected the majority of our rides was feathers hanging in the car! Sortof odd.
Definitely one of the best experiences of my life, I will definitely continue to do this.
After being kicked out (or as…some call it “moving out”) of my mom’s house earlier this year, I’ve definitely been living it up hobo style. Spanging, dumpstering, hitching, squatting, and all with my best friend. I’ve never been happier!
