...because I have the photographic skills, I have the ability, I have the equipment. I just need the commitment, and a little inspiration. Maybe I can do a photographic project on my next overseas trip?! (Maybe it’d be quicker if I just scaled my plans down a bit and did a photo project here in Glasgow?)

...just to see how difficult it would be, to erase all trace of myself from formal society. Thinking about it, it is a monumental challenge; all the places my name appears, all the people who have my details on some expansive database. Passports; Credit cards; Bank accounts; Driver’s license; Rental agreements; Phone books; Internet sites; Email accounts; Social networking sites; National insurance; Employer’s records; University records; Mailing lists; Student support; Mobile phone bills; etc; etc; etc.
All this information that is out there, sitting on computers, idly tracing me finacially, geographically, logging my health, my ‘contribution to society’, feeding the institution’s greed for data, for any information that they could use to pigeon hole me.
So, before the eventual introduction of the dreaded id card; before all innocence and annonimity is lost to the great database, I would like to (just for a short time) dip off the radar, create a little discontinuity in my trace, just to see if I can.
