have a driver license
DONE EARLIER!!! 4 years ago

I got my driver’s license two weeks ago and passed with only 1 mistake! 5 points deducted for “approaching too close to intersection” or it was “poor judgement on something something something.” The driving test examiner was one cool guy, last name Rodrigues, who first thing he asked me when he stepped into the car, asked me if I was Hawaiian. I told him “No, but I grew up around enough of them.” Why some people ask me why I Hawaiian is beyond me – I have a slight tan, long hair and talk the pidgin sometimes so that might be it, but I still look full Japanese. He started talking about Hawaiian soverignty (sp?) and his disgust at da kine Hawaiians who like that yet are the very ones on welfare under the U.S. government, etc, etc. Fun talk stories.

Thank you to my driving instructor!!! After not taking regular driving lessons since last August, I didn’t do too bad – just took 3 one hour lessons in the 3 days before my test.

It’s been difficult getting my license cuz I’ve constantly put it off scared that I was going fail. I’ve renewed or gotten my permit more than 6 times since I was 17 years old! I was tired of people telling me “WHAAA?! You no more license?! Whatsa matter with you?!’ or something l’dat. Tired of the big eyes and teasing remarks when they learn I’m twenty something and still have a permit. I came here with no car and no one to really rely on to let me use theirs to take the test, no one to help me learn how to drive, so I paid $35 an hour to take lessons. Did that on and off for 2 or 3 years till now.

Anyways, watch out O’ahu, here I come!!

Yay!!! Now I can rent one moped in Waikiki or go interisland and rent a car and go driving – something I couldn’t, but wanted really badly, to do!

help my boyfriend find a 2-bedroom apartment
DONE!!! 4 years ago

This is one day late, but I succeeded in this goal faster than I thought I would. :)

Boyfriend’s situation: his owners/landlords were divorcing and the husband was forced to sell the unit to pay off his bitch wife. They put it on the market, this 2-bedroom, 600 square foot apartment and some rich Japanese bitch bought it for $335,000 when the owners had originally bought it for $240,000 back in 2001. Japanee bitch had a translator and couldn’t even talk English but she badly wanted this place. Boyfriend gets 45-day notice to move his ass outta there.

Hawai’i rental market: tight as a virgin’s pussy. Seriously. 2-bedroom/1 bath/1 parking apartments are going anywhere from $800 to $2000. Most of the decent ones are going at least for $1200 or $1300. There was a $1300 apartment that we looked at in the Makiki area that was about 700 square feet, but bathroom had part of the vent falling in due to water damage, ratty brown carpet, an ugly ceiling fan with painted glass from the 1970’s and ugly painted white walls. One side of the wall was completely made out of cement bricks. It was surrounded on 3 corners by other 10 or more story buildings, had unsecured parking and building access. The only pluses were that it had an onsite washer and dryer and a covered parking stall.

Yesterday, I was looking through the Island Weekly and trying to make an Excel spreadsheet of all of the 2-bedroom apartments that were being advertised by organizing details of price, location, etc. I called my third or fourth ad for the day and the realtor happened to be showing the place in then next hour or so. It was a longshot but me, da boyfriend and his roommate, decided to take a look. It was in a complex located less than a minutet from the boyfriend’s present apartment.

We went there and the boyfriend fell in love. It’s got all of the things he’s looking for – secured building, secured parking and lots of storage place. The building also has a swimming pool, lounge area, large laundromat downstairs, big ass lanai with a great view of Diamond Head, white tile floors and walls and lots of cupboards, closets and storage space.

I’ve been hounding the bf’s ass for the past 2 weeks. Nag, nag, nag, bitch, bitch, bitch constnatly about his finding a place cuz he put if off till almost the very last minute to look. First his excuse was cuz he never have phone, then we got him a cell phone through T-mobile, then the next thing was him having enough money to put down a deposit, etc. It got to the point where I was getting on him so much that he’d get pissed – I mean, who wouldn’t? I was being a nagging bich about it cuz he was taking so damn long and neither him nor his roommmate was even searching, much less calling the ads in the paper and I never like him come to the point where it’s the time of the month where he only has 2 weeks left in his current apartment and den he start searching somewhere cuz den he’d be majorly stressed and it’d affect us cuz I’m really sensitive to those type of things and then we’d be all pissed off at each other, but, in the end, thanks in large part to me, it all worked out.

After the tour of the place, the boyfriend strongly expressed his desire to take this place. My heart sank cuz lolo never like wait to look at other apartments (this was the 3rd one we saw) that were a little less cheaper. The realtor was in rush to get a tenant so just like that they sealed the deal. Boyfriend filled out the rental application and wrote a small check to put down as a deposit for the moment until he can cover the rest and the realtor started the paperwork for the lease agreement. The realtor was telling us that he was only doing that because we seemed like “nice, friendly people,” that he could tell right off the bat and sense that we were like that. roll eyes Bruddah-man, originally from mainland China, came here in 1990 to work as an accountant before he hit it big in real estate, dressed in polyster pants and aloha shirt, ya gotta be kidding me. You stay making money off of this deal and could care less about how we’re like so long as my bf look like he get enough money for pay for rent.

Anywho, the owner of the condo called up realor man while we were talking stories afterwards and he casually mentioned that “Yup, we got the place for the price you wanted.” DOH! Bf could’ve probably negotiated the rent a little cheaper, maybe $50 or $100 off? The rent only includes water and not electricty, cable, etc. It’s a little high, in my opinion. The owner is some haole guy in California. But, then again, the realtor was saying that he received alot of calls for the place and knowing the tight rental market, there would’ve been people more than happy to pay the full price they wanted.

The main thing is that the bf and his roommate have a place to stay. I am irritated that the boyfriend took this apt that was morer on the expensive end of what he was willing to rent a place, but whatevers. As long as he has the money, it’s *his money, anyways. He’s happy, he no need take off of work to look, and now there’s the security knowing that he’ll have a new home to go to once he’s forced to vacate his current place.

Shithead better appreciatee it. Nah, I Know he does. I call him that when he irritates me or when I get mad at him. I helped him find his roommate and now his new home. :) Too good, ah?!
