My boyfriend, my Son and my 2 best friends have been talking about taking a camping trip this summer. My man wants to rent a log cabin, but I want to ruff it in the wilderness…you know tents, camp fire, the works. I love the wilderness. The last time I went camping was over a year ago, and we went to the mountains in southeast Oklahoma…..yes we have mountains. It was early spring when we went so there were no bugs at all. It was a bit chilly but thats what the camp fire was for. It was such a great feeling to be so far from anything that resembles society. I cant wait till we are able to get away again.

I have had several garage sales in the past and they have all been very successful. I just moved into a house, from an apartment less than a month ago. So of course this is the best time to begin purging things that I really don’t need anymore or things that remind me of people or times in life that I would like to either forget or move past.
You see I think there are a few things that can make a garage sale successful. Being that I manage a retail store that has a huge focus on customer service, this is one of my strengths. Selling that is.
1. Have all items priced and set up before you open for
business.
2. Remember that its a garage sale, price it to sell
3. Be personable, talk to your customers,
4. Make your signs legible, use arrows, signs cannot be
read easily while people are driving.
5. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the best days.
6. start as early as allowed
7. Keep your sales area clean and organized, things will sell
better if customers can easily look Thur things.
8. Try to have at least 2 people to run it.
9. If Hot out get a cooler and several types of soda
and water to sell.
10. Start with about 25 dollars in fives, ones, and coins.
11. Write all transactions down, keep track of sales. Have a
counting machine or calculator handy, and use an apron like
a waiter would wear to keep money in.
12. Be Leary of accepting large bills, get a currency
validation pen and know how to detect a fake bill.
Don’t be a victim!
13. Be safe!! and Have fun!!
OK so this sounds dumb but I don’t have a saving account currently. So I guess the first step to saving money is to have a place to save it in. so that’s what I’m going to do. then plan from there.
