Yesterday I attempted and finished the 2007 Acura LA Bike Tour (22 miles) in 1 hour, 26 minutes. I was passing people on racing bikes, and I do not own one.
I am now planning on buying a racing bike, seeing that I finished in the top third of riders on my heavy hybrid (street/mountain) bike. I was surrounded by road-bikes at the finish, so I wonder what time I would’ve gotten if I had one of those.
This was also a proving race to my parents that I can do a endurance event on my bike. I now have their full support for the Furnace Creek 508 at least.
Now all I need to do is cough up the money to buy a real racing bike and the proper racing clothes, equipment and such so I can do some serious riding.
I have taken my first step to the Death Valley Cup.

Two months ago I began training for the ultimate test in the world of endurance sports. What I didn’t realize was two weeks into my training, I’d end up twisting an ankle very badly during an improv show.
I haven’t been able to run since, and my ankle is actually still tender. That’s how bad I twisted it. But now I’ve finally been given the a-ok to do running again. So I’m getting my self back o ntrack after nearly 6 weeks of having to wait for a (mostly) healthy ankle.
Here’s to me getting back on track.

One day during an improv show, we were playing a game called “Changes”. You simply do a one-liner, and then you’ll say that about 8 times again, but each time it’s changed, such as doing it faster, like a famous person or in a genre of music.
One day when I was in “Changes” the genre “Hip-Hop” came up. So I did my one-liner in the style of hip-hop, and using a good helping of performance adrenaline (a rush of adrenaline you get while performing on stage) I suddenly went into a windmill, setting the audience reeling in laughter. That ended up winning me the “Line of the Day”. I’ve tried, but haven’t been able to do that windmill since.
So I want to actually give a shot at learning this difficult form of dance. Wish me luck.
