I think I’m one of the few people who actually are skilled critics. No I mean it, I can criticize ANYTHING. I’m an Icecream snob for crying out loud. But its lousy, people associate it with really rude people who have no appreciation at all. Yes I don’t have appreciation for things that I really should appreciate- like potable water and cold showers (Warm showers in the desert? Are you insane?), but I am by no means rude!
No, what I want to be is a thinker. I want to figure things out in my own. Then I want to show others. I want to lead. But to be frank I’m too much of a critic to lead. I’d rather be a superhero.
Everyone has talents that makes them indivuals. Some can draw, other sing, a few dance. Some think others move. I critique. But its not destructive. My goal is to make it constructive. Every one has talents- but what we want are friggin superpowers. To be able to move mountains and move streams.
Get real. You don’t want to be able to draw. You want to make Da Vinci look like a hack. You don’t want to be a good singer. You want to make Elvis look like a 13 year old boy hitting puberty and sucking helium.
Superpowers aren’t just physical. They are artistic, they are philosophical, they are mental. Einstein as much of a superhero as Spiderman, all the more so because Einstein was real. Ask Freud, a superhero in his own right, and he will tell you that we are involved in a constant search for domination. So we constantly search for our own unique superpowers. Now far from saying that Siggy F. back there was right (I perfer Maslow’s theories myself), I want to point out how people search and search for their own powers in the vain hope that it will somehow vindicate their existance.
No one is willing to accept normality and rightfully so- as it is an aim of mankind to constantly improve. But My true point, the one that I dance around is this:
We don’t want to be talented.
We want to be superheroes.
At least I do.
The difference of course being that I actually believe that I can accomplish this.
