The Australian Herpes Management Forum (AHMF) is an independent non profit organisation established to improve the awareness, understanding, diagnosis, management and control of herpes virus infections within Australia.
They are currently running an awareness campaign with the key message: ‘Reveal or Conceal’. It’s all about ‘open communication’.
You can be on the lookout for some lovely ladies wearing promo Tshirts and distrubuting posters, flyers and fake tattoos on the streets and in pubs and nightclubs on the 13th.

What can YOU do for herpes awareness this year?
- Organise a support meeting / social function / celebration in your local area on the 13th.
- Get along to a herpes support / social meeting if you haven’t been to one yet. We’re all just regular people. . . who happen to have a very common virus!
- Make a commitment to ‘reveal’ your secret to at least one person!
- Make a contribution to the herpes community yourself:
Post on a forum (particularly if you never have before!)
Share your thoughts, your feelings, your story – it can be wonderfully cathartic, make you realise just how far you have come, and help someone else too.
- Recommend your local doctor, medical centre, health practitioner, etc. get in touch with the AHMF and request a copy of the Medical Resource Kit.
