26:37!
I was aiming for sub 27… Yay! It was a hilly, sunny out-and back course at the Star of Texas Rodeo. I felt pretty good despite the lack of shade. With more training, I’ll get closer and closer to my goal. I’m still trying to decide whether I should aim for the times I used to get in my late teens and early 20s. I’ll decide that once I break the 24 min mark.

Ooohhh, it’s SOOOOO hot here in the summer. There’s no way I can do anything more than go for a walk at dusk in this kind of weather. Especially if I need to be non-offensive to my patients that I see in the clinic afterwards. I’m putting this one on hold until October.
I never really considered this an attainable goal, but I’ve had a lot of Spanish-speaking patients lately (with slow and deliberate pronounciation- which helps!) and I seem to be picking it up pretty quickly. My workplace is paying for a medical-spanish class in September for any employee who is interested. I’m definitely taking them up on that offer!
