I have known I needed to do this for more than 20 years. I recently found out that I am a diabetic. This changes everything. It is now very important that I lose weight, watch what I eat and exercise. I will not let diabetes kill me, and if I do not watch it closely, that is exactly what it will do.

How I did it: I did it cold turkey because I had to. I had a pulmonary embolism Dec. 27 and could have died. I realized at that point that smoking was life and death. Besides lung cancer and emphysema, it causes heart attacks and strokes. As I near the age of 50, i realize that I am not immortal nor indestructible and I need to pay attention to my health. Read how I did it…
It has been a long time since I updated on 43 things. I have had my Facebook account and reconnected with friends from high school, friends from nursing school, family members and a lot of other people. I suppose I can now mark this goal as achieved. Of course ,it is always an ongoing goal. There are always people and family to reconnect with.
A few days ago I started a Facebook page. I swore that I would not do this after my MySpace experiences. But I finally located an old friend of mine from LaPub days and wanted to see his Facebook page. And to do this you have to register on Facebook.
so.. there ya go.
