I am doing it! I spent some time researching safer, more natural cleaning products. I played with some different products I mixed up and have officially made my own stuff. I use vinegar, water and some essential oils for my all purpose cleaner. Other than that, I mix up my own laundry detergent but really don’t use the soft scrub, linen sprays, and tons of other things I have great recipes for. I wanted to make my own cleaners for health, cost saving and just having a simpler way of doing things—I got it all.
I have recipes so, if you want some let me know—

I spent a ton of time reading about resin on the internet and some books.
Well, I purchased resin, resin color dye, a mold, release spray.
I mixed my first batch and made shallow top layers. Added inclusions, mixed a 2nd layer and covered everything. After that dried, I mixed a 3rd layer with dye. That was the disaster. If you put too much dye in the resin, it will stay gooey forever. Most of my pieces came out okay but the 2 I wanted to to turn into some funky earrings didn’t make it. There was a tad too much dye I guess.

I found some good tutorials to get started with but I really need to purchase The Art of Resin Jewelry by Sheri Haab.

I LOVE fibers of any kind. I often buy them and muse over what they could be. So, I have a huge collection of yarns and no conceivable way to use them unless I learn to knit.
I already know how to crochet but I like the look of knitted items better.

We ended up putting a hold on the potty training. Kelby has zero interest in it now. She has started complaining about having a dirty diaper on after going potty. So, I am hoping this will mean we can start trying again soon.

I haven’t updated my list here in a while. I re-wrote my list but never got around to posting it here. My initial new list had about a dozen things on it. Since I began completing them my list has evolved a lot.

visited 20 states (40%)Create your own visited map of The United States or try another DouweOsingaproject
I hadn’t realized just how many states I’d been to until I marked where I’d already been on a map.
I really would like to purchase the book “1000 Things to do in the US and Canada Before You Die” and visit what is listed. I think that would be an awesome way to spend a few years!
The husband being in the military will probably bring this number up in the next 5 years.

I ordered the book last week and it arrived today. I have flipped through the book and have found wonderful ideas for my list that I hadn’t yet thought of. I am begining to revise my list tonight. Hopefully, I’ll have the bulk of it done tomorrow.
I also took the personality quiz and I am a “romantic tree hugging de-clutterer”. My practical side is going crazy because that isn’t a word. I hope to retake the quiz again after working on my new list and completing it to see how much it changes.

I started out with the simple things-getting CF light bulbs, running full loads of laundry(line dry)and dishes, growing a lot of produce, using natural cleaners for the home and shower needs. I use reusable grocery bags or paper when I need extra. I have been working on making some of the clothes my family needs.

I took the time to learn more Spanish than I did in high school. I can understand people using it and I excel in writing this language but I am slow to remember the correct words when speaking. I guess that will get better with time.
A guy in my husband’s military classes has been helping me a lot, mostly because he was excited to find another person who was interested in having conversations in Spanish too.

Now that I am a SAHM I have a bit more time to read. In the 3 weeks since we moved to OK I have read 6 good sized novels.
Now to battle the dreaded stay-at-home-parent isolation…. Good thing we have awesome neighbors.

I know my daughter is young and won’t actually be 2 until April but we decided to try our luck with potty training. She has been running around telling everyone about the poop in her diaper whenever she does go or even has a little bit of gas so I imagine its alright.
We went to the only store in town and let her pick out her own potty chair. Of course she was totally excited by the solid pink chair just for the color-forget those silly singing white ones!
We brought the chair home and set it up in the bathroom right across from the “big potty” She promptly told me she had poop and sat on it. I helped her get out of the diaper. After she went, her face wrinkled up and she said ewwwww. That didn’t make me feel the greatest because she doesn’t like to do or be around things she deems gross.
I continue to help her with the potty and bring her with me whenever I need to go. She still hasn’t pee’d yet.
David helped her a few days ago when she needed to poop. She screamed and cried the whole time and refused to go.
She will at least sit on the chair but refuses to use it again—oh well, I knew not to expect too much right away….
