How I did it: I started going on these business trips where I knew no one. I figured that it was silly to order unhealthy room service just because I was too scared to eat out alone. So finally I just did it. At first I spent the entire time texting my friends so I didn't feel like I was by myself. But then I looked down the bar and saw everyone else was doing the same thing. How I did it: This was really hard. I'd say the two key elements were not caring what other people thought and learning to think of my life as a ticking clock... you only get so much time, right? I'm still not a huge risk taker, but using these two ideas I was able to both do some things I ordinarily wouldn't have done and laugh at myself if it didn't work out. Read how I did it…
How I did it: The key for me was to make it easy and interesting. I took a 32oz plastic beer stein I'd had from college, washed it out, and put it on my desk at work. The novelty of having a beer mug on my desk kept it there---it was more like a nostalgic desk toy. Then, I filled it with water first thing every morning and left it on my desk. Since I'm a bit ADD, when I would look around for something to distract me I started picking up the water glass… Read how I did it…
