Satisfying, one of those days when I learned a lot but the atmosphere was so friendly I didn’t even notice I was learning. The tutor was amazingly good – so laid back and friendly.

Will give myself a week or so to think about doing some more – love silver, could be a really absorbing hobby…

And here’s my first effort:)

buy and learn how to use Sibelius (read all 3 entries…)
Installed 16 months ago

Finally cleared customs, picked it up today – successfully installed. Have to go out tonight, want to stay in and play. Have a (typical) urge to race ahead, but tomorrow will sit down with manual as suggested and work my way through the tutorials. This one has been slooow progress. Maybe i’ll get my midi keyboard to work – had it for ever such a long time, could not get it to work with my old laptop. Have pulled it out of storage, ready for tomorrow.

Didn't even think 16 months ago

about sugar this week. Only when driving back on a hot motorway yesterday, felt a smidgen of self-pity and wanted a little piece of ice-cream comfort (but knew it was self-pity). 30 days or so left to my birthday when I would really like a gluten-free chocolate cake.

I sense the longer I’m off sugar that my ability to control my consumption once I start is worse (does that make sense?) Like, part of the reason I stopped is that I could not just have a small portion of something sugary. I was beginning to dread having something sweet because a small portion wouldn’t do and I would feel ill after whole tubs of ice-cream. So, I don’t have a problem so much going cold turkey – in fact, I prefer it. And I’ve realised I have sugary things in the house for other people that don’t bother me – because i haven’t started them. It’s once I’ve started that the problem comes.

Anyway, I’m not starting, and that’s a good thing.
