I don’t want to make the mistakes my mother made. Yet I find myself acting exactly like her!
The difference I suppose is that I know I’m wrong (some of the time) but she did not.
I have read a wonderful book: “How to talk so that kids will listen and how to listen so that kids will talk” and am now doing a course on this to add to my parenting tools. If only everything worked as the book scenarios!
I have to try harder. I have to remember how much I love my son and how I want him to be happy. I have to keep my eye on the big picture and what is important rather than getting trapped on the little routine things etc
