While it isn’t the only thing to see in Jordan, Petra was certainly a highlight. And now it has been acclaimed one of the Seven Wonders of the World. See our photos at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/pic/petra.html
What a wonderful trip! Have placed photos online at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/israel2007.html
In Puerto Rico there are three Bio-Luminescent Bays that contain microscopic organisms that light up when the water is disturbed. Getting to Laguna Grande on the northeastern tip of the island involves paddling a kayak through some dense mangroves in the middle of the night, but it is well worth the trip.
When you put your hand into the water, it looks like tiny fire flies as they light up. Splashing with your Paddle makes the entire area light up and your kayak leaves a glowing wake behind you.
It is official; we are going this June (not the 2nd, so I won’t see you there).
It has been close to 30 years since I studied Kenpo Karate under Bobby Lyle. He has long since died, but his skill lives on. And in 30 years, I have never had to use this knowledge in a combat situation. Since he taught that fighting is only to be a last resort, he would be glad with that record.
Yes, I’ve done this on several occasions over our past 33 years, but it is time to do so again. I’m glad for this reminder.
As a father and a grandfather, I know the delight of seeing a newborn come into the world. The same delight is experienced in bringing a spiritual life into the world. There is nothing like it!
Each of us was made for a particular purpose, even if we don’t know what it is. When you want to know about purpose and design, it is only natural that you have to go to the Designer and to the One who gave you purpose.
My students in Moldova get a kick out of my terrible pronunciation of the few words of Russian that I have tried to master.

I’ve had the opportunity to perform a number of weddings, including that of my daughter and her husband. One of my ambitions is to perform the weddings of my two grandchildren.
Yes, it IS possible to get married, to stay married, and to live happily ever after. My wife and I recently celebrated our 33rd anniversary. She was and is my college sweetheart as well as my best friend. What does it take to make a perfect marriage? I think a key ingredient is commitment. We have committed ourselves to one another first, last, and always. What has worked for us is that our relationship is grounded upon our Christian faith. It is a devotion that we share and which draws us together.
At the same time, I would add that marriage can be FUN. We laugh together and we ENJOY one another.
Knowing God is a process; a journey. Any journey begins with a single step, followed by another and another. I’ve been walking for a very long time, but I’m not finished yet. I am still in the process of knowing God. I’ve posted some of my reflections at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/flame03.html
My thoughts and experiences on firefighting at listed at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/flame.html
Been fighting fires for 29 years. Been a great career. Reflections at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/flame.html
After 29 years in the fire service, I’m very close to retirement. I’ve put some of my thoughts to pen at http://www.angelfire.com/nt/theology/flame.html
Growing in Christ is a journey. But like any journey, it begins with a first step. The first step is coming to know the One who died in your place and trusting in Him as your Lord and Savior.
