Since I graduated I have had a different job roughly once every year. Some years I have worked 2 part time jobs for a year. Some jobs I have lost. Some jobs I have left for greener pastures (that turned out to be scraggy and brown).
I’m happy with my reasons for moving around. Plus, I am a person who loves change, so the constant starting afresh I really like. But, I am left with a CV that looks like I am not commited or can’t hold down a job for very long. It’s a mess.
I don’t feel bad about it. That’s what a modern 20 something’s CV looks like. I’d feel bad if I hit 30 and was still doing it.
So the next job I have I must keep for longer than 12 months. No matter what!

I lost my last job as a teacher due to ill health. I decided to do supply teaching, after discussing it with my Doctor and having him OK me to do that type of work.
Only, with the recession, there’s no supply teaching going. Schools are making existing staff cover for absent teachers or even employing ‘cover supervisors’ who only cover absent teacher’s lessons, but are much cheaper than a supply. There’s absolutely nothing going.
I also went for 4 – yes FOUR – interviews for different jobs within Lancashire Libraries, and didn’t get one. They hated me.
So I’m thinking a teaching assistant or cover supervisor job would be good, but to be honest, I’d take anything to tide me over because not being in work is really making my panic attacks flare up.
There’s a bar job going near me… I think I might have to go as low as that. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this situation.
