Recently, on August 7th, 2011, I created a network on Ning.com. My slice of the net can be found at www.myNeedyNation.com. This is to be a close-knit community where every member supports all of the other members. Whether it be with small things or larger things. We are to support each other by listening, helping clean up a public park, finding answers to a question that eludes the person seeking the answer for personal reasons, work-related reasons or school…whatever the case may be. I want to host online events where the community brainstorms ideas for projects, asks questions, and helps The Nation to grow into a monster of a community with numbers backing it up. We can effect change in so many ways if each of us just do a small part.

I have finished the first draft of my first novel. I did it in 30 days. Two hundred and sixty-one pages of story out of my head and onto the page but with more ideas about how to change the story and make it better during revision.

My mother was a lady. She cursed at times; laughed at some dirty jokes and didn’t get out much in the last several years of her life. But she was a lady. She never complained about how I repeated myself and what goals I had set for myself, no matter how many times I told her. She always remained attetive and genuine. I have never met another like her. And although she is physically absent from this existance, I know she is still here. She told m when I was young that she would be here, and play the piano. I no longer have a piano in the house, though. I should get one in case she wants to play.
