This was one of the trippiest highlights of my shoot for the Department Of Tourism down here in the Philippines! It happened in the Hundred Islands in Alaminos, Pangasinan. The paid cost for the “flight” would have been 2100 Philippine Pesos (A mere 37.50$). And since I was up there for an aerial shot, it was absoloutely FREE!!! :) Kudos to all you fliers! Here’s a shot of the view from “up there”. Hope y’all get to come on down here to trip out on such experiences. The Philippine Islands await! :)

Yip. Been there! Can’t exactly top it off with “Done That” though. Well.. not entirely. Puerto Prinsesa is one of the Islands that compose of the beauty that “is” the Palawan group of islands. the first time i was there, was with friends. We attened another friend’s wedding and were able to go to places like The Underground River, Sabang Beach, Nagtabon Beach, and another beach which was more of a “mangrove beach”, the name of which escapes my memory.
This more recent visit was work. Was shooting for the Department Of Tourism and got to go back to the Underground River Site. This time though was different because instead of going to the place via bangka(which was impossible this time around due to strong waves crashing into the entire shoreline) we hiked over to the place. Not bad. A good 2 hour hike through forest trails and a mangrove area.
We also got to shoot at and visit the Crocodile Farm, which also had a collection of wildlife mammals and birds. Very interesting, but leaving much to be desired as an international attraction. At any rate, the town of Puerto Prinsesa has become very dear to me, and a return trip is definitely in order. As a matter of fact, it has become one of my goals to try and put up an Eco-Farm Resort in the area. It’s my one singular goal written up here at the moment. If any of you people are into nature preservation and dig this kind of an idea, please do give me a holler! :)
...And oh yeah, if anybody here is planning a trip back to Palawan (particularly to the places where I haven’t been to yet like El Nido, Coron, or Busuanga), please do give me a holler as well! :) Maybe I can tag along! Professional photographer/cinematographer here! :)
I’ve just been around the Philippines shooting for The Department Of Tourism(DOT). The project took us around the counrty to shoot at the Eco-Tourism sites. Namely, and in order: Banaue, Hundred Islands(Pangasinan), Mount Pinatubo, Palawan, Bohol, Lake Sebu(South Cotabato), and Mount Apo(Kidapawan). As the trip progressed and came to it’s close. I realized that there should be more resorts that follow the true nature of “Eco-Tourism”, such as The Center For Ecozoic Living (CELL) which is run by nuns in Cavite. And another place which is like it, but on a more commercial level to be located in Montalban, called “Earth Haven”. It is because of this that I have made it my long term goal to work with local government resources to develop such places elsewhere. The primary site of the “project” would be in Palawan. I have local government contact in Puerto Prinsesa, and welcome anyone and everyone knowledgable in the fields of Agriculture, Recycling, Alternative Energies, and the like to please, please, PLEASE contact me here if you would be interested to be part of the endeavor. Much thanks in advance, and hope to be hearing from you all soon! :)
