I think I’ve seen it all the way through twice. It’s certainly a good movie, with an interesting story and characters. Some of the camera angle choices are particularly arresting. I think its main fame comes from the fact that Orson Welles was only 25 when he made it. The age of 25 seems to be important in crystalizing talent – Michael Jackson was 25 when he did Thriller, Einstein when he developed the theory of relativity, Marx when he wrote the Communist Manifesto. Citizen Kane gets mixed reviews however.

Okay, I’ve been fooling around for weeks, not losing any weight and I have finally bent and started writing down everything I eat. Not just pretending to know what it is – writing it down. I also discovered through this web site that I should be consuming less than 1600 calories each day if I want to lose weight. Since 1600 is not very much, writing it down will track it much better. Now I look forward to progress.
The course of true weight loss never did run smooth – or something like that. I haven’t weighed myself for the last 2 weeks and this morning I discovered that I am almost at 135. Effectively, I have lost 1/2 pound since last time. I am therefore not sure if I am going to meet my target of end of March for the 20 pound loss. However, I am still going in the right downward direction and I am encouraged by that. The sun is melting the ice outside even if it is still below freezing so I think I will be able to ride my bike by the end of March too. I think I will aim for 5 more pounds by the end of March which will get me below 130 for the first time in years. And I’ll be happy with that as an interim goal.
