Well, our patio offers enough space, I think, to build a small temporary greenhouse in the winter so we could grow stuff. We would have to insulate it against the cold, of course, and pray we get enough sun… install lights to mimick sunlight? I’ll look into it with my husband.
Wish me success!

I have read a very interesting book published last year in the beautiful Canadian province of Québec entitled “Mangez!”, which means “Go Ahead and Eat!”
This book does not promote the arythmetics of calories, nor does it preach the gospel of food combinations. This book aims at re-educating the reader about his/her own body signal to start and stop eating: hunger.
The basic idea to drop weight and keep it down is simply to listen to one’s own hunger. The book outlines a programme to make the reader more aware of his/her hunger signals and to respond to them appropriately.
I do not follow that programme to the letter, but I am doing my best to eat nutritious and filling meals/snacks when I am hungry, and to stop eating when I am no longer hungry (ay, there’s the rub!) even if it means throwing food into the waste basket. We as children were all told not to waste food, but finishing one’s plate even after hunger has vanished will not help children in Somalia who are dying of malnutrition.
Wish me success!
