It’s not often to have run-ins with the mob when you live in Corning, NY – though one day a friend of mine and I were inside this ritzy hotel for no particular reason. On our way out, I stood there and held the door for a group of gentlemen that were approaching. They were clearly mobsters, and the head one spoke to me and said “I dont care what anyone says, I dont care what this guy right here says (he made a gesture towards my friend), you’re a good kid. Dont let anyone tell ya otherwise”, then he and his goons went inside and I was left, never to be the same. It was amazing.
