Procrastination and Boredom 3 years ago

I go for walks here and there but I realise that isn’t enough to stay in shape. I either procrastinate or I get bored too easily. I’m not sure how to keep the excitement going and I’ve been trying to work on my procrastination. I’ve been taking Zinc lately and it’s been improving my energy though. I find that I can’t sit for long and, I have been doing more things lately, so maybe that will help.

What To Do? 3 years ago

I have read loads of stuff on “how to worry less” but it still isn’t working. It’s been a habit of mine for so long that it’s going to take a lot of time and work. I realise that it’s a waste of time and health to sit there fretting but I’ll need more time to get where I want to be. I have found out by experience though that keeping busy is a great way to forget about worrying.

Doing Really Well But Still Procrastinating 3 years ago

It usually takes me a while to start something. I always do a little here and there. It is also difficult for me to finish something as well. :oP I started going around here and there – going through bags and boxes. I think my bedroom was the worst room in the house but it’s not really that bad. I finally started that room a week ago and, I did pretty well but, there is still much to do. I also went through clothes I didn’t really like or need anymore. I moved around the furniture in both bedrooms to give a better feel to the room. Doing that seemed to get me more motivated in clearing out the clutter. The spare room is pretty much finished but there is a few things to be done in there. I did a few things in the living room, kitchen and bathroom too. It’s coming along nicely. The problem was that I didn’t have the right things for the job. I still don’t but I’m going ahead with it anyway.

Weird 3 years ago

When I tried to meditate a couple weeks back I felt really warm and a bit nauseous. It felt like the room was spinning. I know I probably didn’t really do it properly as I haven’t really read up on it. I am going to try to push myself to try again because I have heard that it is really good for you.

Finally... 3 years ago

I finally got started on cooking things from scratch. It’s really worth trying. It’s a great feeling to know that the meal you ate was made completely by you. It is definitely worth the effort. I still need a lot more practice before I can tick this one off though. I’ve only made two meals. Cannellini Bean and Farfalle Pasta, Vegetable Bake and my next attempt is called Spicy Baked Bean Burgers. I have made things in the past but I’ve not been as brave as I have now. I find that it has helped my creativity with food more and that I’m putting ingredients and my own ideas together for other meals too.

Doing Okay 3 years ago

I normally love eat healthy foods anyway but I don’t think I try hard enough to stay away from junk food. I think it’s okay to have some here and there but the problem is I can’t say ‘no’ to people when they offer me some. I’m afraid of offending them and I always aim to please. Well, usually.. I don’t seem to miss foods that I haven’t had for a while and when I do eat them again I notice what it does to my body – very lethargic. When I was craving crisps a couple of weeks back, instead of giving in, I bought veggies and hummus. It seemed to satisfy my cravings. Yummy!

Finally Got My Hair Cut 3 years ago

My boyfriend called the hairdresser’s for me as I kept putting it off. It had been such a long time since I had had it done that I was too embarrassed to go in. It was well worth it and I hope I can afford to keep getting it cut more often from now on.

Oops! 3 years ago

Okay, I faltered over the weekend which made it worse at the start of the week but, I think I’m starting to get back on track now. It’s only the beginning and I’m taking very small steps. I want to get past the ‘okay’ stage though because that is where I am with every aspect of my life. It’s difficult to change the small things in your life let alone the big things. I’m not going to get at myself when I fail I will just keep trying.

Doing well 3 years ago

I seem to be failing miserably with the other goals but I’m actually doing really well with this goal so far. I used to love reading when I was a kid but a lot of things happened and I stopped reading books for a while. It was difficult to get into them again as my concentration was poor which would put me off starting a book in the first place. I’ve finished 2 books: Manual of the Warrior of Light and The Alchemist. I enjoyed both of them and find myself wanting to dig into another book. I think I’ve got my interest back again!

Chickened Out! 3 years ago

I chickened out of joining a class. I was looking forward to it but when the weeks passed by I slowly talked myself out of it. Is there any way of teaching yourself privately first? Any good ways of learning?

I really really want to do this though! I am always putting things off. If I didn’t usually put things off than I would have given it up ages ago. It takes a lot of effort for me to start things. I am going to look for a more simple recipe and start off slowly.

Hello! 3 years ago

I noticed someone else has joined this goal. Hello! Welcome and nice to meet you! I have looked on many websites for inspiration. There are a couple website that might be of interest to you or anyone else reading this.

This is a great site. It’s not only good for self-discipline but for other goals you are interested in learning or getting advice on too. He isn’t doing this to sell you anything either.

Here is another site that is interesting. He is trying to sell a book but there is a lot of good information on the site nonetheless:

Enjoy!

Avoided 3 years ago

I haven’t done any exercising since the last time I mentioned, actually I did go for one or two walks. I do other things too though. I walk to the grocery store; walk to peoples’ houses (if their not in another town); walk when I do most of my errands; I take the train which is better than driving a car. You have to walk to and from the train station, where as if you have a car, you only have to walk to your door.

Kind of Doing it Anyways 3 years ago

I usually do pretty well at eating healthy food. I prefer it more to junkfood. It’s other things, besides myself, that tend get in the way of it. I went to a pub/restaurant last Wednesday and ordered salmon. It was delicious! I just saw an Oprah show where a woman was talking about enjoying your food and finding pleasure in it. I think I already kind of do this but I’m going to try even more. She says that some people focus too much on the negatives and don’t take the time to savour their food. I’ve been trying to eat slower and savour it more. I’m going to make it more like treating myself than wolfing it down.

Hmmm 3 years ago

I was doing so well with this goal. Now I’m all over the place. I think I got up at 10 a.m. on Sunday. It was Sunday though and I think it’s okay to have a lie in once in a while. I think it’s because I don’t have a specific place I need to be in the mornings and I associate it with bad memories. I have tried to do things I enjoy in the morning to make it easier to get up. It has helped a little. I’m not going to give myself such a hard time about it because I have improved a lot more than what I was like before. I’ll try little steps and soon it should be a breeze. I woke up earlier today which is a good start.

One Glass at a Time 3 years ago

I think I’m going to start with just one glass – Trying to drink eight glasses at first is putting me off. I do really want to do this and I realise the benefits too. I know someone who started to do this and has noticed the results. So.. one glass a day at first .. then I will build from there.

Started 3 years ago

I did start to declutter my house. I began to put the laundry away that I had left in very neat, but very tall, piles. I used to be very neat but lately I can’t be bothered facing those things. I think I looked at the whole picture instead of breaking it up. Now I try to think that I’ll only start putting one thing away and see what happens from there. Usually I end up finishing it all.

I haven’t made the time to start this. I have this track that I got for free. I think it’s about 20 minutes long. I’ll try listening to that today. Thanks to everyone who gave links. I’ll be looking at them later.

I have to admit that I haven’t even begun to look at recipes. It has been on my mind though. The next time I go shopping I’m going to promise myself to pick out a recipe and get all the ingrediants for it. I hope…
