Yay! Power supply in, and it works. Everything seems to be functioning well. Ok, so I did spend about an hour and a half with tech support for my video card in order to 1) figure out I had a bad install disk and 2) fix what I had messed up in the BIOS trying to correct what I thought was my problem (turned out to be that bad disk).

Lessons:
Hardware install = easy
Software install = not so easy

Now on to the one thing that’s driving me crazy…I can’t remember half my usernames for online accounts, so I’m going back and forth between the two computers, hooking and unhooking monitor, keyboard, mouse every time.

I’m such a dork! :D

If I can get a power supply that works, I’ll be happy. I broke down and got a lighted one (me? dazzled by flashing lights? never! ;)) so I can tell if it’s a dud. Everything else is in the case…so until I can power up I’ll have no idea whether I did this right or not. The new PS I ordered should be here next week.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Bonnie is bringing me her old machine, so I’ll get a chance to figure the thing out in the next couple of weeks. It’s an older model, so I might have to search a bit for parts. But hey, that’s what the internet is good for, right? ;)
