How I did it: I found out that my university has a rowing team, so I waited for the beginning of this semester and joined in by emailing the coaches.make sure to remember that there are probably many options available to you if you live in or near a large city.Here in the Phoenix metropolitan area, there are youth/adult, competitive/recreational and private/public/business teams (8 teams in total) for the somewhat uncommon sport of rowing. How I did it: I chose to stay near Baltimore, Maryland (I forget the name of the suburb, but it's rather inconsequential) for the convenient regional train system that goes directly to the D.C. mall.
