declutter my life (read all 3 entries…)
I am still working on this goal 4 months ago

This goal will never be fully accomplished but I have made further progress.
I have really cleared out my wardrobe. I have started to let go of books. My dvds and cds are in binders (though I keep the jewel cases, they are in boxes stored out of the way).
I have people staying in my apartment to take care of the cat, so that was major incentive to cleaning out. I will tackle the kitchen when I get back. I have a feeling that there is lots of stuff in there I can set free!

learn to dance
wishful thinking? 21 months ago

While I wouldn’t say that I have two left feet, I am a very slow learner. I took ballet as a young child, Irish step and set dancing after college and took five weeks of a six week dance class with a fellow I was dating, but that was years and years ago. I don’t have a partner and I am a little nervous about signing up for a class. I have looked into private dance lessons which would be totally doable, except how do I practice? And then, if you learn to dance with one teacher and maybe a partner, can I dance with any guy who asks or is it going to be confusing? My parents can really only dance with each other, I don’t have an other. I love to move and don’t want to feel self-conscious if a fellow does ask me to dance.

fire a gun in a shooting range
Did it today! 21 months ago

I’m so proud of myself for accomplishing this. I went with a friend of mine who was really patient. He had given me about four pages worth of reading beforehand on gun safety as well as a selection of youtube videos to watch. Two were of guns being fired and they were really loud, so I only watched them once. The other was on safe gun handling. I watched that one 3 or 4 times.
I fired both a .22 and a 9mm. I much prefer the .22 I felt I had better control and certainly better aim. But my friend said that because the Glock was far more common that I needed to be familiar with that, too.
He also made me practice loading the magazines, and then loading/unloading the magazines into the pistols.
This is definitely worth doing!
