acquire a copy of K&R's "The C Programming Language"

I finally bought the original 1978 version. It’s an excellent, fast paced, “we assume you already grok what’s going on” guide. They also show examples of how many of the standard library functions and several Unix commands might be written. Mine is the first edition so there’s a few errors, like a < instead of <= in one place that would cause out-of-bounds array access, but I imagine these are mostly fixed in later editions. Overall, a great book.
