I was looking up info on what my ice chewing habit can do to my teeth. Who knew I’d find out that chewing ice was a kind of addiction. Finding out what constant ice eating can do to my dental health was eye openening. I also read about iron deficiency as the cause of a lot if these addictions and that makes a lot of sense because I started eating ice when I was pregnant wih my now 10 month old daughter. The cravings would last all day! I told my doctor and she tested my blood and told me I was “severely anemic” and told me to buy some iron tablets. I was taking them for a little while but the cravin for ice continued till this day. I gradually forgot to take them every day and are not taking them now. I haven’t had my blood checked in a while but my ice chewing is worse than ever. I wake uP and eat a cupfull of ice cubes, I can’t sleep until I’ve hAd about two cups of ice because my jaw begins to clinch and I get head aches. I came across this site during my ice chewing search and now want to mchange my ice chewing habit for my health and to be an example for my daughter. Hopefully joining this website will make it a little easier. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And it’s nice to meet everyone!
